Just to clarify, you mean it's about 10 px distance before you see the stroke appear? Or do you mean the stroke doesn't start where you want, but 10 px away?įor me, it's maybe a half second between starting the stroke and seeing it. Although I'm not a tablet user, so maybe it's not a fair comparison. For that you will probably need to use a raster paint program (or possibly Krita or Inkscape).I notice a lag if I have a high Mass value on the Calligraphy tool control bar. Note: Gravit does not currently support variable line width, either by pressure or manually. If you can afford it, go for the medium size (around A5-ish), in my opinion it is more comfortable to use than the small version (around A6-ish), unless you typically create art on post-it notes and A6 notepads (admittedly, there are some artists creating great art on the small versions too).

If touch has improved and is supported on Ubuntu, the Intuos Art might be worth considering.Īpart from touch, most of the other differences in the Intuos range are in the software included - not so relevant for Ubuntu. Last I tried, touch on Wacom tablets was nowhere near as responsive as on a touch screen (although I admit I haven’t tried any recent models, so this might have improved dramatically in the last few generations - my last external Wacom tablet is from when Intuos was still called Bamboo), so I would recommend the Intuos Draw which does not support touch. Probably one of the Intuos range is best, I’ve seen them mentioned positively in relation to Ubuntu. Fairly sure Wacom is the only brand supported out-of-the-box on Ubuntu, although other brands might be compatible.
